Fried pita bread with sausage and cheese

Fried pita bread with sausage and cheese
  • 25 minutes
  • 4 servings
  • Pita bread
    3 pcs.
  • Sausage
    200-300 g
  • Cheese
    100-150 g
  • Eggs
    2 pcs.
  • Sour cream
    3 tbsp.
  • Mustard
    1 tsp (optional)
  • Green onions
    0.5 bunch
  • Parsley
    0.25-0.5 bunch (to taste)
  • Salt, pepper
    to taste
  • Vegetable oil
    for frying
  • Water
    1 tbsp.

Prepare the filling ingredients. Cut the sausage into small cubes. Grate the cheese. Finely chop the green onion and parsley. Add sour cream, mustard, some salt and ground black pepper. Mix well.

Crack 2 eggs into a separate bowl. Add 1 tbsp. water, a pinch of salt and ground black pepper, and then lightly beat the mixture with a fork until smooth.

Cut pita bread into strips 7-8 centimeters wide. Cut off the rounded edges of the strips of pita bread so that their ends become square - this way it will be more convenient to roll the pita bread with the filling, giving it the shape of triangles.

Put 1 tablespoon of the prepared filling on each strip of pita bread. Lightly press down on the filling, spreading it across the base of the strip in a triangular shape. Then roll the pita bread, repeating the outlines of the filling (for more details, see the video version of the recipe).

Repeat the procedure with the remaining strips of pita bread and filling.

Dip the resulting pita triangles into the egg mixture on both sides and place in a preheated, oiled frying pan.

Fry pita bread over medium heat, on both sides, until golden brown. If desired, cover the pan for the last few minutes of cooking to help melt the cheese.

Fried pita bread with sausage and cheese is ready.
